Popular torrent tracker IsoHunt introduced a new “lite” version of the site, located in the blast zone of Hong Kong. From now on all visitors from the U.S. IsoHunt automatically redirected to the new portal, says Mashable.
His decision to give American users a new portal IsoHunt founder Gary Fung (Gary Fung) explained the desire to make life in a simple search engine trackers. In the “lite” version is not possible to navigate by headings, which makes her look like a conventional search engines.
As an example of such a step Fung led the search engine Google, which recently moved users of Chinese portal Google.cn the Hong Kong version of the site in order to not to censor search queries.
In late March the U.S. Supreme Court has recognized IsoHunt founder guilty of placing on the resource links to pirated content, and ordered him to remove, and continue not to post such links, after providing it with the corresponding list of owners. This decision was rendered in the case against the tracker the American Association of filmmakers (MPAA).
After the announcement of a court order Fung said that the obligations imposed by the court would lead to the closure of IsoHunt. At the same time he stressed that the links in the title of which use the names of the objects of copyright, in his opinion, is not a crime. Fung noted that under such a reference may be any, including the legal content.
Currently, representatives of the MPAA are engaged in compiling a list of copyright, banned for posting on IsoHunt. After giving this list creator IsoHunt have to be two weeks in order to execute the court decision and remove links from the resource.
